My name is Jordi Isern Jubany and I was born in Barcelona in 1969.
At the age of twenty-six, I made the decision to leave the city and seek the peace and tranquillity of nature, of open spaces. I just needed it.
At that time I was working in the family business, but I found my true self by confronting this situation. Nature is inside me, and landscapes and painting are my passion. I gave up everything and dedicated myself completely to art. It was a wise and courageous decision.
I am fully convinced that spending the weekends and summers of my childhood between Montseny and Alcover (Tarragona), surrounded by nature, influenced me to devote myself to painting landscapes and mountain villages.
I live in Alcover, a village in the heart of the Prades mountains, on the left bank of the river Glorieta, with the characteristic landscape of the Tarragona countryside and Mediterranean climate.
In my beginnings as a painter I happened to know Montblanc, the capital of the Conca de Barberà area, and from the first moment I fell in love with its surroundings and its people. It is a town with a marked medieval character and of great historical importance, as it was the location where the first Catalan Parliament was held.
Without hesitation, I set up my second studio in 1999, where you can have a look at my works and even buy them.
In Montblanc, I have lived unforgettable experiences and I have been able to meet people from all over the world, who have spread my work in many different countries.
With effort, passion and dedication, I have been able to exhibit in the main Spanish figurative art galleries and in the rest of the world, mainly in Japan, where I have exhibited in nine different cities.
Therefore, I can say that I consider myself from there, the place where I can always return, since for me it will be like returning home.
